IRON MAN of WEEK = Iulius Beezer

May 10, 2013 - There is a new sheriff in town in the Iron Vikings Championship: Air Force.  With Falcon standout Iulius Beezer leading the way with 25 points, Air Force downed previously unbeaten Navy 68-64.  Beezer could barely contain his excitement after the victory.  When asked how it felt to take down the number one team in the league he replied, “good.”  There is nothing like unbridled enthusiasm!
With his team humbled, Navy’s Kyle Cipollone was at a loss for words.  “I feel like Welker right now.  I have nothing to say.”  A very different young man from the one who triumphantly stated he was good at everything last week.  Air Force team leader Logan Croft, however, was not reticent at all.  “Anchors aweigh, my boys, anchors aweigh!! Ha ha.  More like anchors oh weight your terrible and we just destroyed you.  Navy was over confident.  We understand that that its not the best team that wins, it the team that plays the best.  We played better this time.  We plan on doing the same thing next week.”
In the other matchup, defending champ Wofford finally got in the win column with a resounding 62-30 win over hapless Georgia Southern.  Team leader Devon Switser was pleased with the performance.  “Over all we had a solid week.  Not a great week, but a solid week.  If you look at the numbers of records broken, we’re in second place overall.  We’ve had some bad luck so far, but we’re peaking at the right time.  I’ve got some secret plans and strategies for the playoffs.  We will defend the ship.  Mark my words.”  More false confidence from a once proud champion.
Next week will be the last week of the regular season before we enter the playoffs.  It will be a call out week with last place Georgia Southern getting first pick.
