ACADEMIC PROGRAM
At Lyndon Institute, we are committed to the academic success of each and every football player in our program.  We must train our minds, as we train our bodies in our off-season conditioning program. To this end, we have put in place a new academic support system to help keep our football players on track. The program involves the following components:

           1. All players enrolled will meet with the coaches in room 316
every Thursday for a ‘guided study hall’ (2:50 pm - 3:50
pm). At that time we will:
a. review their weekly academic progress
b. confirm that players are tracking assignments in a provided planner
c. identify deficiencies and chart a corrective course of action
d. assist players in studying for tests and quizzes
e. support player homework completion
f. provide tutoring in writing and research when applicable
           2.  Each Thursday, the players will bring home a brief summary of their
academic progress in their planner for you to sign off on. Players will
be instructed to present it to you for inspection - feel free to comment -
and they will be expected to check in with their designated
coach/advisor to further review the planner, and any comments you
                 may have added.

Note! Players will only be part of this program if parents/guardians agree to enroll. I encourage all to participate, but it is not in any way required to play football. I simply want to support the academic success of our football players.

**** Because of conflicts with games and practice, this program is best suited for football players not involved in winter sports and/or spring sports, but I will make an effort to serve those students in the best way possible.

The first day of the program will be Thursday, January 27.  If you would like to have your son participate in this program please contact me in one of the following ways:
1. Sign the included form and return it to Coach Nolan as soon as possible.
2. Email Coach Nolan at coachnolan@hotmail.com.
3. Call Coach Nolan at 673-4618.

By working together,  we can enhance the academic performance of our football players and help build a brighter future for each one.  We look forward to hearing from you soon.
